Synopsis:

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley Jr. is a family-friendly musical based on Jeff Brown’s classic book Flat Stanley. The story follows Stanley Lambchop, an ordinary boy who longs for a life of adventure. When a bulletin board above his bed falls and flattens him to just half an inch thick, Stanley discovers that being flat comes with unexpected advantages—he can slip under doors, be mailed around the world, and become an instant celebrity.Encouraged by his family, Stanley sets off on a whirlwind journey, traveling by envelope to places like Hollywood, France, and Hawaii. Along the way he meets colorful characters, has comedic misadventures, and learns that being special isn’t about fame or flatness, it’s about being yourself.

*Please note we can only cast around 30 actors for this show. The directors will do their best to cast as many auditioners as possible, but if not cast there are plenty of opportunities to be a part of our crew! Crew is also a great place for new actors to learn about how musicals are run before being an actor. If you would like to be involved as a crew member, please email Larissa at stagemanager@bctmn.org.

If you are unable to attend auditions, please:

  • Fill out an audition form and click on "Please add me to the waiting list. I cannot make an appointment at this time" when you pick an audition time slot
  • Email Production Manager, Anne Karson at productionmanager@bctmn.org with a video of you singing your audition song

Each cast member has a $110 participation fee, and families are asked to contribute 4 volunteer hours for every child involved. Scholarships are available for those who need assistance. **Children who participate exclusively in a crew role may join at no cost.**

Your contribution helps provide:

  • BCT Keepsake Tote Bag – A durable, personalized bag to keep scripts, costumes, and show materials organized.

  • Keepsake Script – A professionally printed script for rehearsals and a lasting memento of the production.

  • Glow Party Contribution – Helps fund food, decorations, and activities for our celebratory party.

  • Tech Day Lunch – A provided meal during our long technical rehearsal day to keep performers energized and focused.

  • Hair & Make-Up Supplies - So every actor looks and feels their best!

  • Stargrams – Fun, encouraging notes & treats for cast/crew members to celebrate their hard work.

  • USB Flash Drive – Loaded with performance and rehearsal tracks for home practice and future memories.

  • 2 Complimentary Tickets – Free admission for family or friends to enjoy the performance.

  • Souvenir Program – A keepsake program highlighting the cast, crew, and special moments from the production.

This fee allows us to provide exceptional resources, keepsakes, and experiences that enrich each child’s journey on stage. It ensures that every performer feels supported, celebrated, and part of something special.
