We are also holding an additional audition day, THIS SATURDAY, September 5 from 1-3 p.m. Please plan to stay the entire time.

*Auditionees should plan on staying for their whole audition time frame or until dismissed.

*Due to the content of this show, we are requiring that actors be age 16 or older

To prepare for auditions, please:

1. Prepare 60-90 seconds of a song in the style of the show, either musical theatre OR 80's style rock/pop/ballad.

2. Please plan for either piano accompaniment from the audition pianist, OR a karaoke track. Please NO acapella songs or songs with another voice singing on the track. If bringing sheet music for the audition pianist, please put it in a binder and mark your cut clearly.

3. Dress for movement. A choreography video will be sent out 2 weeks before the auditions. Please come with this routine prepared.

4. For the initial audition, please prepare a 1-minute contemporary monologue, preferably comedic. Readings from the script will be used for callbacks.

If you are unable to attend auditions, please:

Fill out an audition form and click on "Please add me to the waiting list. I cannot make an appointment at this time" when you pick an audition time slot
Email Administrator, Danielle Kerr at dkerr@bctmn.org with a video of you singing your audition song, the audition dance combo and prepared monologue.

Synopsis:

The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer's sparkling new score does for the '80s what Hairspray did for the '60s. Just say yes to the most romantic musical in twenty years.

It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Monday-Friday, September 14th-October 23rd from 6:30pm-9:30pm

Tech Day: October 24th time TBD

Tech Week: October 26th-29th from 6pm-10pm

Have your calendar handy and be prepared to enter rehearsal conflicts. You will be asked to upload a headshot (a JPEG file) and a theatrical résumé (a PDF file) if you have one. If you don’t have either of these files you can still submit the form.
