Chaska Valley Family Theare is excited to announce audition for The SpongeBob Musical!

Audition Dates

March 17th-18th, 5:30-9:00pm, at Pioneer Ridge Middle School in the Band/Choir rooms 

Callbacks will be Saturday March 22nd, 1pm to 4pm at Chanhassen High School in the Vocal/Orchestra rooms. You will be notified prior to callbacks if you need to attend.

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!

The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T’s, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was conceived by Tina Landau.

What to prepare

During your audition slot you will perform a prepared audition song. Following your singing audition you will be taught a short dance combo. Auditioners should plan to stay for about 60-90 minutes for the audition process which includes the group dance portion. 

Please prepare 60-90 seconds of a musical theater song of your choice. An accompanist will be provided; please bring sheet music that includes a piano accompaniment and is clearly marked with your cuts.

Please come prepared to move; we may do floor work, so no skirts. Please bring flexible athletic shoes or jazz shoes. You may wear character shoes or boots, but note that not all the choreography will be suited for this footwear. 

Performance Dates

June 20th,21st, 27th, and 28th at 7pm

June 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th at 2pm

Peformances will be at Chaska High School auditorium.
