<h2>Announcing Auditions for Save Hamlet!, our Winter Play</h2>

Sample Playhouse will be holding auditions for Save Hamlet!, by Mark Harvey Levine, directed by Jake Sung-Guk Sullivan.&nbsp;

Sample Playhouse is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strongly encourage people with disabilities and members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities to audition for our plays, or to join us to participate in other ways.

The Play: &nbsp;Save Hamlet!&nbsp;is a hilarious parody of the Bard&#39;s greatest play, full of laughs, tongue-in-cheek humor, and physical comedy. When Horatio, Bernardo, and Marcellus are all women in disguise - and when they discover each other&#39;s secret identity, they realize they must team up and step in, or the whole thing will end in tragedy! Armed with snark, self-referential humor, and a load of fake swords, they team up to subvert the inevitable and maybe get folks to lighten up a little in the state of Denmark.

When: &nbsp;Monday, January 19 and Tuesday, January 20.&nbsp;No callbacks are planned.

Time: &nbsp;Sign-ins begin fifteen minutes early. Please try to arrive before your time slot begins.

Where: &nbsp;Eden Prairie Senior Center, 8950 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, on the lower level. Park in back. (<a href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&amp;query=8950+Eden+Prairie+Road%2C+Eden+Prairie%2C+MN">Map</a>)

What: &nbsp;Auditions will be done by readings of sides from the play.&nbsp;

If you cannot attend the auditions and would like to be considered, you can supply an audition video instead. A video is not needed if you can attend in person. Upload the video to your choice of service and paste a link to it in the Link to Audition Video field. Instead of scheduling an appointment, put yourself on the waiting list. For audition videos, you should perform a monologue.

Sign Up To Audition:&nbsp; Please fill out and submit an audition form. Our audition form is an online form. You will be asked to upload a picture of yourself and a theatrical r&eacute;sum&eacute; if you have one. The picture can be a headshot or informal photo of just you, preferably of just head or head and upper torso, in portrait orientation. It should be a JPEG file. The r&eacute;sum&eacute; should be a PDF file. If you don&rsquo;t have either of these files you can still submit the form. Check your calendar and be prepared to enter rehearsal conflicts.

If you cannot upload either a photo or a r&eacute;sum&eacute;, you can bring them with you to the audition. If you do not have a r&eacute;sum&eacute;, please fill out the &ldquo;recent theatrical experiences&rdquo; section of the form.

Production Schedule:&nbsp;

Rehearsals: &nbsp;Monday, February 16 through Thursday, March 26 
Monday through Thursday, possibly some Fridays, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Load-in and set build: Saturday, March 21. 3-4 hours required.

Tech/Dress Rehearsals: &nbsp;Monday, March 23 through Thursday, March 26, call time 6:00 pm.

Strike: April 5, immediately after the matinee performance.

BERNADETTE - She / her. Early 20&#39;s, Disguises herself as Bernardo. Snarky. Doesn&#39;t quite get the whole iambic pentameter thing.

FRANCESCA -&nbsp;She / her. Early 20&#39;s, Disguises herself as Francisco. Also plays CORNELIUS, REYNALDO and GARFUNKEL. Enthusiastic, resourceful.

MARCELLA -&nbsp;She / her. Early 20&#39;s , Disguises herself as Marcellus. Smart, Type A.

HORATIA -&nbsp;&nbsp;She / her. Early 20&#39;s. Disguises herself as Horatio. Bookish, nerdy, stuffy. Likes Hamlet.

GERTRUDE -&nbsp;She / her, 40&#39;s - 50&#39;s, Hamlet&rsquo;s mom. Overbearing, embarrassing.

OPHELIA -&nbsp;&nbsp;She / her. Early 20&#39;s. Polonius&rsquo; daughter. Increasingly upset about the circumstances around her and determined to do something about them.

FIRST PLAYER -&nbsp;&nbsp;She / her, any age.&nbsp;Runs a troupe of actors. (May double FIRST GRAVEDIGGER AND FORTINBRAS)

FIRST GRAVEDIGGER -&nbsp;&nbsp;She / her, any age.&nbsp;Digs graves. It&rsquo;s a living.

FORTINBRAS -&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She / her, any age. Early 20&#39;s. Prince of Norway. Sheepish.

GHOST -&nbsp;He / him, 40&#39;s - 60&#39;s.&nbsp;The Ghost of Hamlet&rsquo;s father.

CLAUDIUS -&nbsp;He / him, 40&#39;s - 60&#39;s.&nbsp;The current King. Not very bright. Talks like a 1920&#39;s gangster.

LAERTES -&nbsp;He / him, early 20&#39;s.&nbsp;Ophelia&rsquo;s brother, Polonius&rsquo; son. Kind of a hot-head.

POLONIUS -&nbsp;&nbsp;He / him, 40&#39;s - 60&#39;s.&nbsp;Advisor to the King. Ophelia and Laertes&rsquo; father. An overconfident fool.

HAMLET -&nbsp;&nbsp;He / him, early 20&#39;s&nbsp;Prince of Denmark. Nice, but a little out of his depth.&nbsp;

ROSENCRANTZ -&nbsp;&nbsp;Any, early 20&#39;s, School Friend of Hamlet

GUILDENSTERN -&nbsp;&nbsp;Any, early 20&#39;s, Late Teens-Early 20s, School Friend of Hamlet

VOLTEMAND -&nbsp;Any, early 20&#39;s, . Ambassador to Norway. (May double OSRIC.)

OSRIC -&nbsp;Any, early 20&#39;s, A local Lord. Kind of an idiot.
