About The Show:

“Sha la la, Joseph, you’re doing fine! You and your dreamcoat, ahead of your time!” One of the most enduring shows of all time, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors.

Told entirely through song with the help of Narrator(s), the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family.

Auditions

• Monday, October 21, 6:00–9:30 p.m. (First hour reserved for children’s chorus)
• Tuesday, October 22   6:00–9:30 p.m. (First hour reserved for children’s chorus)
• Invited Callbacks: Saturday, October 26, 9:00 am

Audition Requirements

1. Please prepare 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre song.  No accompanist will be provided but a bluetooth speaker will be available . YOU MAY NOT SING ACAPELLA. Children auditioning for the children’s chorus may prepare any song of their choosing not to exceed 1 minute.
2. Dance audition. You will receive a dance video. You will perform this dance after singing your choice of a song. Please bring clothes you can move in.  Children auditioning for the children’s chorus + actors only auditioning for the role of Jacob/Potiphar will not be required to attend the dance audition.

Note: Performers auditioning for the children’s chorus must be a minimum of 8 years old to audition.  Performers auditioning for the Narrator, Joseph, Brothers, etc must be 17+.
