THE PROM is a side-splitting, heartwarming, and poignant musical comedy that follows the journey of four Broadway actors who, in an attempt to remain relevant and boost their popularity after a crushing review, rush to the aid of a lesbian student in the conservative town of Edgewater Indiana who is banned from bringing her girlfriend to her high school prom. The story is based on the true 2010 events surrounding Constance McMillen in Fulton, Mississippi, and focuses on overcoming discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community, changing hearts and minds, and acceptance.
