September Song Musical Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our forthcoming production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Auditions will take place on April 3rd-5th with Loft Choir auditions and Callbacks on April 6th, 2025 at Carroll Lutheran Village in the Community Club Room located at 200 St. Matthew Court, Westminster, MD. We are seeking a diverse cast (ages 16 and up) to make up our on stage cast and a specialty off-stage chorus (Loft Choir). All performances will be at the Scott Center for the Fine & Performing Arts at Carroll Community College on August 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th and 16th at 7 PM and August 10th and 16th at 2 PM. All those auditioning for a named role must be available to attend callbacks on April 6th. We will make every effort to let you know before you leave auditions at the earliest and before callbacks at the latest if you are needed.
Note Regarding Kids Younger Than 16: Due to the sensitive subject matter of this show we want to be careful in the ages we cast. We will consider offering auditions to kids aged 11 - 15 on a case by case basis. You will sign up and put your kid on the wait list. We will review your registration and get back to you regarding whether or not we will be offering your kid an audition.
What to prepare:
Please review the cuts of music at www.septembersong.org/sides and select 1 for your vocal audition. We will provide backing tracks at auditions. If you are auditioning for a named role, please prepare both cuts, choose one and we may ask for the second. Loft Choir auditioners, please prepare the vocal line (SATB) that best corresponds with your voice type. We may ask you to sing with others who have prepared the same piece. We are not accepting any other vocal selections at auditions. Please plan accordingly.
There will be no cold reading from the script. Those requested to attend callbacks will be required to read from the script and will be asked to perform a music selection(s) from the show.
Sides for callbacks will be provided via our website by March 20th. Please note, there may be additional material provided at callbacks.
Come prepared to learn a short routine for the dance portion of the audition.
